With 2008 and all of it’s ups and downs behind us, 2009 promises to be a great year for personal growth and organization. Naturally, the start of a new year is a time of reflection in which we take stock of ourselves and figure out what habits or behaviors we want to discontinue or introduce into our routines. Current events such as the economy, shift in politics, war, and countless other stresses that we face make 2009 feel different, at least to me.
As a society, it seems as though we have reached the end of the “road of ignorance” and indulgence without consequence. The time has come to pull up our bootstraps and challenge ourselves to be important contributors to the betterment of society. I am pretty sure most of us are already taking a much closer at ourselves from top to bottom than in years past. This is why I am so excited about 2009!
With all of this reflection and reorganization momentum at hand, why not include your technology as part of the process? There are many areas of your digital life that may be worth looking in to – operating systems, managing your media, virtualization, “green” computing, software, hardware, finances, and more.
I have been busy over the past several months examining all facets of my technological practices and while I’m still working through it, I am very excited about what I have found so far and what appears to be on the horizon for us.
So get to examining your personal finances, look into your neighborhood recycling options, get on the treadmill, put down the cigarettes, and cozy up to your keyboard for 2009 is the next best chance we have at a new start…
