Its not that I don’t believe when Vista tells me the it is routinely defragmenting my hard disk drive, but I am a visual person and have grown up watching the defrag process occur before my eyes. I found a free utility, AusLogics Disk Defrag that gives you a familiar visual representation of how fragmented your HDD is.
I installed Disk Defrag on Vista, XP, and Windows 7, and successfully defragged each without a hitch. Like the built-in defrag program included in XP, the interface is intuitive and straightforward.
